I have a question and a comment about the advanced stock screener. Do I have to have 10 posts this month and last month to be able to used the advanced screener? Also, why do I have to have 10 posts just to be able to use the screener? It would be easier to make posts after screening stocks because you can asks for other people's opinions. You almost have to make a bunch of random posts just so you can start making real posts. I just think it would make more sense to let people use the screener from the beginning. Sorry for the rant, but that is just my opinion.

You don't have to post 10 message every month. Just post 10 messages when you want to use it for the current month. In my opinion, it makes sense for Dojispace to let only contributing members to use the system since they offer it for free. They have to pay bills and hire programmers to support the screener and you are getting it for free. A lot other sites charge a monthly fee for screeners. You can still use the basic screener if you like. I was one of the earlist members of the site and I can use the advanced screener anytime for free without doing any posting. When the forum first started, not many people register or bother to post. I guess that's why the owner choose to make the advanced screener for contributing members only. The people who registered before the advanced stock screener came out gets it free, no posting is require for me. I think this strategy really work out now that I see new members everyday.

I understand where you are coming from, but, you have to admit it would be easier to make posts if you were able to analyze stocks. Maybe the terms should be modified so that you get access to the screener upon registration, but have to make 10 posts per month to retain the access. If you do not meet this requirement, then you will be banned from the screener until you make the required number of posts. I guess I just find it hard to talk about stocks whenever I can't use the tool designed to help me the pick stock to talk about.

Yah, that's a good suggestion. But then they will have to ban a lot members from the forum. Again, you can still use the basic screener to pick stocks, and how hard is that to make 10 posts each month? I don't think you have to post on the 1st of the month to use it.

I'm not saying that it is hard to make the 10 posts per month; in fact, I think it will be quite easy once I have access to the screener. Once I have the ability to screen stocks, I think I will be constantly posting asking for peoples opinions and help. I just think that having to make 10 posts before getting to use the screener is a little dumb. Like I said in the previous post, you almost have to make random posts to get access to the screener. Also, the real reason I came to this website was to use the advanced screener. I have used screeners similar to the basic screener at sharpcharts.com. The real reason that I was drawn to this site is because you can combine the many different basic screens into one screen to speed up the analysis process. Thanks for hearing me out, and also thank you for helping me get to 10 posts.

Thanks

upod111, I just realized there is flow with your suggestion. If people can use it upon register, then some people will keep registering new accounts rather than posting.

The delete function is only available for the administrators. upod111, sorry for your frustration about the 10 posts to access the advanced stock screener, but this is the only way we can get more users to participate. We had less than 50 members for many months before we finally decided to make the advanced stock screener available only to participating members. The only way for us to improve our screener and learn from other members is through communication. Also, there is no motivation for us to work hard and implement new features when there are only a few users. People simply leave the forum when they see no activity in the forum, and that's why we want people to post before using the advanced stock screener.

Trust me, you can save a lot time using the advanced screener. I really like the new sorting feature that was added last week.

I think we can require Admin to delete our posts if we want.

10 replies per month is easy to do - not sure why some people want to discuss this further

You are absolutely correct. Without being able to screen anything, how can you possibly post any sensible post?

I have been playing around with this "4x2 Trading Strategy".

I would like to see the Stock Trend Scan (4 down days) added to the advanced stock screener.

That way I could combine it with the technical indicator of daily moving average up.

I think that combo might yield better results.

Happy Trading
