Why not give a new member a month to do 10 posts so they can use the advanced stock screener?

Then everybody starts creating new account every month rather than posting. See the following thread for more detail.

This is for the first month only. Starting from your 2nd month, you have until the 15th to complete the 10 posts.

"We had less than 50 members for many months before we finally decided to make the advanced stock screener available only to participating members. The only way for us to improve our screener and learn from other members is through communication. Also, there is no motivation for us to work hard and implement new features when there are only a few users. People simply leave the forum when they see no activity in the forum, and that's why we want people to post before using the advanced stock screener." -Admin

Ok, I understand. Well, how about limiting the results on the advanced stock screener to one result. So that new members can have at least one chart to post. Yes I can use a screener from another site but isn't the the purpose of this site to use multiple technical signals to pick a stock to trade?

What's the point of having 1 result? Also, you can go to stockchart and say the purpose of that site is to provide charts, but why are they offering advanced features to paid members? Same reasoning applies here, you can pay to access the advanced stock screener if you don't like to post.

In fact, that's a good suggestion. We will consider limiting the result to 10 symbols for non active members.

It doesn't mean anything. The forum software we use auto generates the points.

I think it is nothing to do with the points, it is related to posts. after 10 posts, you can access the advanced stock screener.

Did you have 10 posts this month? It is 10 posts each month. Also, you have to login again on the advanced stock screener page.

10 posts is required each month to use the advanced stock screener. There is no limit on posts. However, if your post got removed, then you will have to repost. Normally, I remove post if I see a "New user" doing the following
1. Reply with the same message on every thread such as "thank you".
2. The message is either empty or less than 5 words.
3. Reply to the same thread 10 times in a row to get post count.

So, you have to have a minimum of 20 posts - 10 last month and 10 this month? If you start posting in June the first time you can get unlimited access to the advanced screener is sometime in July after you have 10 posts in June and 10 in July?

No, you only need 10 posts each month. If you need access on June the whole month, you need 10 posts on June, and same thing on July.

Seperately, is there a way to change the username after an account has been created?
